Evonik plans to lay off 3,200 employees globallyGolden Ten Data reported on June 22 that Evonik recently announced the extension of its "Evonik Customized" efficiency-enhancement program, which will involve all of Evonik's global business and functional departments, with plans to cut approximately 3,200 jobs, around 2,150 of which are in Germany. The related measures are scheduled to begin in 2027 and will continue until the end of 2029. On June 22, Evonik confirmed to Jiemian News that 1,050 positions will be reduced outside of Germany, including in the China region, although the specific number of layoffs in China has not yet been determined. The "Evonik Customized" program was launched in October 2023, with the original goal of cutting approximately 2,800 jobs by the end of 2026. In May this year, Evonik stated that the program was progressing smoothly and that the targeted cost reductions would be achieved.
