Despite high gasoline prices, Americans still embark on road trips for Independence Day
The American Automobile Association (AAA) expects a record 72.2 million people to travel at least 50 miles. Gasoline price tracking platform GasBuddy predicted last week that the national average gasoline price on July 4th would be about $3.75 per gallon, second only to the all-time high of $4.80 per gallon set on July 4th, 2022. According to GasBuddy data, the national average gasoline price on Friday was $3.772 per gallon, up 62.7 cents compared to the same period last year.
