Ship Stranding Incident in the Strait of Hormuz, Damage Assessment Unclear
On July 1, reports from Al Jazeera indicate that a ship ran aground in the Strait of Hormuz after failing to follow the 'approved' route established by Iran for this strategic waterway. More details about the incident are gradually emerging, and it remains unclear how severely the ship has been damaged. According to media reports, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy has 'repeatedly warned global captains, shipowners, and shipping company officials that failing to adhere to the designated routes while navigating the Persian Gulf could lead to irreparable accidents.' The report did not mention two recent attacks on ships by Iran—these vessels were targeted for passing through the strait without Tehran's permission, including a tanker carrying Qatari crude oil.
