Qualcomm Announces Third Generation AI Chip Set to Launch in 2027
On June 25, Qualcomm's data center head announced that the third generation AI chip is planned for release in 2027, with a data center CPU set to launch in mid-2028 and a second generation HBC chip expected in 2028. Microsoft will deploy Qualcomm's high bandwidth computing chips in its Azure data centers. META plans to use the C1000 CPU in its data centers. Qualcomm stated that the data center segment is expected to generate billions in revenue in fiscal year 2027.
