Aztec Labs responds that the attacked product is a version abandoned four years ago and is unrelated to the current network and token.
Aztec Labs stated on the X platform that the team is investigating a potential vulnerability affecting an Aztec payment product that was discontinued in 2021, with approximately $2 million transferred from an immutable smart contract. This product was the Stage 2 Rollup version, which was decommissioned in 2022, and Aztec Labs does not hold the admin key nor control the system. This incident is separate from the Aztec Connect product attack that occurred on June 14. The Aztec Foundation stated that the affected product is not related to the current network or the AZTEC ERC20 token smart contracts.
