Bitget Wallet Launches A "Custom Mainnet" Feature to Simplify the Process of Adding New Mainnets

Bitget Wallet (Previously BitKeep) is introducing another great feature!

It’s for our users to add custom mainnets. For wallet users, adding a custom mainnet has always been a tedious and hideous task. You’ll have to get the RPC address, chain name, chain ID and other information right, and fill them in the right fields, all correctly. Even with a third-party tool like ChainList, it takes many steps for you to add a custom mainnet on a mobile device. In order to address this problem, Bitget Wallet (Previously BitKeep) has launched the “Custom Mainnet" feature. Unlike the namesake features of other wallets, Bitget Wallet (Previously BitKeep) has minimized the steps needed for mainnet adding with a built-in ChainList and the support to 300+ EVM mainnets.

The Merge is just around the corner and there follows ETH forks. For users who want to get fork tokens, it is the best if they can quickly add any fork chain to their wallets. Bitget Wallet (Previously BitKeep) announced its plan to support the fork chains weeks ago. The launch of the “Custom Mainnet" feature is one of the measures to facilitate users to get fork tokens.

What is the "Custom Mainnet" used for?

Generally speaking, a wallet only supports a limited number of mainnets, mainly the major ones. And for the new and niche mainnets, e.g. ETH forks, a wallet software may provide a “Custom Mainnet” feature, which, in most cases, is a manual feature, for the minority of its users.

Bitget Wallet (Previously BitKeep) currently supports 70+ mainstream mainnets including BTC, ETH, and BSC, which means it caters to the needs of most users, but there are still many EVM-compatible chains available and there are users who would like to access these chains. As mentioned above, adding these chains to the list is a multi-step moil, no matter if you get the information through the mainnets’ official websites or through 3-party tools like ChainList.

But now, we have an easy option.
More than that, the new feature comes with added value!

Hightlights of Bitget Wallet (Previously BitKeep) "Custom Mainnet"

  1. With a built-in ChainList of 300+ EVM-compatible chains, you can add any mainnet you want with one tap

Bitget Wallet (Previously BitKeep) has a built-in ChainList for mainnets, gathering the data of 300+ EVM-compatible chains, for users to add any chain they want with just one tap. Users don’t need to locate the name by sliding down the page and staring at the screen. Instead, they can just search for the names in the search bar provided. In short, two words, easy-peasy!

2. A “Retrieve” button for you to get information populated automatically

If the ChainList is not enough, you can also try the “Retrieve” button: Simply enter the PRC address of a mainnet, and tap “Retrieve”. All other data will be automatically retrieved and populated to avoid failure due to filling errors.

3. Access DApps on new Mainnets without adding it to the list in advanced

Bitget Wallet (Previously BitKeep) currently supports 15,000+ DApps, and many of which are deployed on multiple networks. When a user tap to access a DApp and it’s detected that he/she hasn’t added a certain mainnet to the list, he/she will be prompted with a pop-up pane asking him/her to tap the “Add” button in order to access the DApp. That means no need to go back to the Bitget Wallet (Previously BitKeep) landing page to add the mainnet.
