US SEC Commissioner Calls for Transparent Regulatory Framework for Asset Tokenization
According to a report by Jinse Finance, SEC Commissioner Mark T. Uyeda spoke at a tokenization roundtable held in Washington, D.C. on May 12, calling for a transparent and predictable regulatory environment for the tokenization of real-world assets. Uyeda emphasized that blockchain technology has the potential to significantly change the way financial markets operate, including increasing asset liquidity, reducing intermediary delays, and lowering transaction costs. He stated that the SEC should actively develop policies that adapt to new technologies rather than avoid regulatory responsibilities due to the inapplicability of existing frameworks.
