Beercoin and WaterCoin Claim to Have Changed Market Makers Since Gotbit's Indictment, but Challenged by Community
On Oct. 12, following the indictment of market maker Gotbit by the U.S. government, Meme Coin projects Beercoin and WaterCoin, in addition to Hamster Kombat and Neiro, issued a post clarifying their relationship with Gotbit.
In a post on the X platform, Beercoin said that the BEER team has long since stopped working with Gotbit and is using other market makers.
We would like to clarify that we do not work with Gotbit and are not affiliated with them in any way,” WaterCoin said in a post. After the launch of WATER, we had concerns about Gotbit's integrity and changed our market maker.” However there are users within the comments section of the clarification posts for both programs who are skeptical of their claims.
Additionally, Lookonchain had posted on October 10 that Gotbit had previously claimed they sold WATER to bring the price down to a fair level. However, Gotbit sold far more tokens than they bought.
In previous news, Neiro announced the termination of its relationship with market maker Gotbit, and Hamster Kombat said it had never worked with market maker Gotbit.
