In multi-asset mode, if the USDT balance in your account is insufficient, realized PnL or unrealized PnL from trades may result in a USDT liability. This liability counts towards the required maintenance margin, and the maintenance margin rate increases as the liability amount increases. Maintenance margin is calculated on a tiered margin system: the liability in each tier uses that tier's maintenance margin rate. Example: If the liability is 80,000 USDT, and the Tier 1 limit is 50,000 USDT, then 50,000 USDT is in Tier 1 and the remaining 30,000 USDT is in Tier 2. The maintenance margin occupied by the liability = 50,000 × 5% + (80,000 − 50,000) × 6% = 4300 USDT.
