SuperRare is a decentralized NFT marketplace for digital art that operates on the Ethereum blockchain. It was founded in 2018 by a team of artists and technologists who saw a need for a platform to showcase and sell unique, one-of-a-kind digital artwork. SuperRare is a platform that connects artists with collectors, providing a space for artists to showcase and sell their artwork while offering collectors a chance to purchase unique digital art pieces. Till date, it is one of the biggest NFT marketplaces in the world with more than $200 million of value in collected artworks and more than $5 million in royalties paid to artists and collectors.

How SuperRare (RARE) Works

SuperRare offers a feature called "Spaces," which are essentially independent digital storefronts / gallery houses. The community has a say in which Space can be open, and a portion of revenue that the Space gets will be returned to the DAO. All operations within a Space, including choosing artists, calculating commission structure, promoting works, and building a following, are decided by the team running the Space. An artist can opt to sell their artworks in Space or as an independent artist. This creates a community-driven approach to the platform and helps artists gain exposure and recognition for their work however they want to.
