What is Spool DAO (SPOOL)?

Spool DAO is a decentralized protocol that makes it easy for users to earn interest on their cryptocurrency investments while reducing risk. It does this by managing investments automatically and spreading them across different yield-generating protocols.The project was introduced in 2020 and has since grown to work on multiple blockchains, amassing $22.9 million in TVL.

How Spool DAO (SPOOL) Works

Spool DAO offers the following products and services:

- Spool Smart Vault routes deposits into different yield generators in a risk-managed and yield-optimized way. It is similar to a managed fund, but users can set it up individually. The Smart Vault has an assigned strategy, a chosen yield generator, and a subset of selected Yield Generators. However, it does not hold user funds directly in the contract.

- SPOOL token is an ERC20 governance and incentive token. It is used for voting on Spool Improvement Proposals, incentive payouts, fee structure, risk model proposals, submitting Spool Improvement Proposals, and management of the DAO Treasury. 

- voSPOOL is a non-transferrable, non-tradable token that acts as a voting power multiplier within the Spool Ecosystem. voSPOOL holders can vote on how 50% of SPOOL emissions are distributed across Spool Smart Vaults and on Spool Improvement Proposals. The token also serves as an indicator for tracking how long a participant has staked their SPOOL Tokens, thereby rewarding long-term participants. Acquiring voSPOOL is as simple as staking SPOOL, but withdrawing staked SPOOL resets accumulated voSPOOL to zero.
