What is The Sandbox (SAND)?

The Sandbox is a metaverse on Ethereum where people can create, share, and monetize their in-game assets and gaming experiences. The team behind the project is called the Sandbox Company, which was founded in 2011 and has more than a decade of experience in developing games for the traditional gaming market. Their Sandbox franchise has gathered more than 40 million players over the years. Therefore, this project is expected to become the bridge that connects blockchain gaming and traditional gaming.

How The Sandbox (SAND) Works

The Sandbox offers three powerful tools:

- VoxEdit, which lets users create and animate 3D arts

- Game Maker, which provides free tools to build 3D games

- Marketplace, where players can trade their NFT items and arts (which are called ASSET)

Upon starting the game, each player is given LAND, a digital NFT-based piece of land in the Sandbox metaverse. LAND can be used to host a wide range of metaverse experiences, join other's experiences, stake, farm, rent, trade, etc.

SAND is the main token in the metaverse which can be used to take part in governance, trade ASSET, join metaverse experiences, or buy LAND.

SAND has a maximum supply of 3 billion. At the moment, 1.5 billion SAND tokens are in circulation.
